During the night of Thursday to Friday, around 00:45 a.m., a Mini was traveling on the Chaussée de Namur in the direction of Fosses. When crossing the village, on the bend in the square, the driver lost control of his vehicle.

The car then hit the facade of a house, causing significant damage, then found itself pulverized on the roof, just in front of a garage. Fortunately, at this late hour, no pedestrian was walking near the square.

The firefighters of the Val de Sambre area under the orders of Lieutenant Medhi Akal went to the scene with a pumper, a beaconing vehicle, an ambulance as well as the SMUR of Auvelais.

Very seriously injured, the driver had to be extricated before being taken in a condition deemed critical to the Marie Curie hospital in Lodelinsart.

Police officers from the Entre Sambre et Meuse area took charge of the findings.

The Namur public prosecutor’s office was alerted.

The automotive expert, Benoît Quevrain, went there to try to understand the causes of this serious accident.

It was the repairman Franck Annoye from Floreffe who removed the laminated wreckage of the Mini.
