Aston Martin held a press conference and preview at the Happy Valley store yesterday (28th), showcasing the new DB12 – the world’s first SUPER GT sports car. The DB12 exhibited this time is a prototype of the left-hand drive version. The new car will be on public display until July 8 (Saturday), and then it will be shipped to other regions for touring exhibitions.
The newly released DB12 by Aston Maritn is not only a tribute to the history of the 110th anniversary of the car factory, but also a pioneering work of Aston Martin for the future. It opens a new chapter for the DB series and opens a new era of subversive GT sports cars. According to Aston Martin, this is the world’s first Super GT sports car.
Aston Martin has always focused on high-performance and ultra-luxury designs. The brand-new Super GT is hand-made 4.0 V8 twin-turbocharged engine. Through re-tuning, the profile of the camshaft is changed, the compression ratio is optimized, a large turbocharger is added and the engine is boosted. Cooling effect and other methods can produce power and torque output of up to 680PS and 800Nm, and the top speed can reach 325 km/h, providing drivers with a more exciting driving experience.

DB12 has added intelligent Bilstein DTX shock absorbers to bring the driver and passengers the comfort of long-distance driving and the performance dynamic experience of intense driving. Linked to the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system, the DB12’s electronic differential distributes torque intelligently, transitioning from wide-open differential to 100 per cent locked in as little as 135 milliseconds. A shortened final drive ratio of 3.083:1 provides stronger gear acceleration. Combined with the latest ESC system technology, the dynamic capability is significantly improved. Aston Martin has released the non-isolated steering column previously used only on the highest performance models for DB12 use, maximizing steering input, vehicle response and road information feedback, enhancing the agile and precise dynamic feel.
DB12 adopts a brand-new bold and confident design, which wonderfully interprets the beauty of power and integrates the golden section visual ratio of DB series.
The DB12 introduces a new driver-focused interior environment that utilizes ergonomics throughout the cockpit. Most of the control functions are perfectly presented along the centerline of the cockpit, and various functions can be quickly adjusted to ensure the maximum connection between the car and the driver. All key driving controls are centrally located on the center armrest, keeping frequently used functions within easy reach.
