Anyone who knows the cellar lane guide Ilse Gritsch knows that she likes to bring people together and give them a good time. That’s why she invites you on Saturday, July 8th, to a single cellar lane tour in Dürnlei’s royal cellar lane. She’s celebrating a small anniversary with this, as it’s already the fifth Kellergassen tour for singles, which always takes place around the day of the kiss.
“When I started the cellar lane tours, a gentleman from Hollabrunn called me. He said he’d like to come to the Kellergassen tour, but he’s alone and wanted to know if that would matter,” says the Kammersdorf resident, remembering how the idea came regarding. “If you can go anywhere alone, it’s to Kellergasse,” she is convinced. Because there is always someone to toast to.

And so, the following year, she invited her to her first single cellar lane tour on the day of the kiss. She did not expect that this offer would be so well received. “It’s not easy for people to go somewhere alone,” Gritsch knows. But they dared, the tour was a success. “A lot of friendships were formed,” she says. Because the passionate cellar lane guide is still in contact with some of them.
“Of course there are no young disco fleas, but people in their prime,” she reports regarding her audience. An 80-year-old was also there and liked to flirt with the ladies. How regarding the male quota? “Until now, half was half,” Gritsch himself is surprised that so many men are always there.
It is important to her that nobody is afraid of active coupling: “It’s always relaxed, people should get to know other people and spend a nice followingnoon together.” And this followingnoon always sounds in following the march through the Kellergasse at Heurigen Müllner best Weinviertel style.
