Spectacle at the Swiss wrestling festival: Joel Wicki meets Damian Ott – Pirmin Reichmuth gets the strongest guest

At the central Swiss wrestling and alpine festival in Dagmersellen, Joel Wicki will compete once morest Damian Ott from north-eastern Switzerland in the first course. Pirmin Reichmuth has to deal with the man of the hour.

Joel Wicki has already celebrated four victories this season – most recently on the Stoos.

The next highlight of the season is approaching: On Sunday, the best Swiss wrestlers and eight guests from the other four sub-associations will meet in Dagmersellen for a showdown. The field of participants is strong, with a total of 15 Confederates taking part.

The top pairings of the 1st course have been known since Thursday followingnoon. The pairings are spectacular. Wrestling king Joel Wicki will start with Damian Ott from north-east Switzerland. The task may be even more difficult for Pirmin Reichmuth. The Zuger gets the Bernese Fabian Staudenmann in front. Staudenmann is the most successful wrestler so far this season. He has already won five wreath festivals – in five participations.

The duels between Michael Gwerder and Michael Ledermann from Bern and between Mike Müllestein and Patrick Räbmatter from Northwest Switzerland also promise to be exciting. Experienced Christian Schuler swings with Erich Fankhauser. 2021 ISAF winner Joel Ambühl takes on Romain Collaud from Vaud. Mario Schneider, standing in for the injured Samuel Giger, swings with Sven Schurtenberger.

Swinging in at Dagmersellen is on Sunday at 7.30am. The arena seats 12,500 spectators. A remaining amount of standing room tickets will still be available at the box office. We keep you up to date via live stream and ticker on our website.
