Bundesliga club Altach has found a replacement for Tino Casali, who switched to Eintracht Braunschweig. As the Vorarlbergers announced on Thursday, veteran Dejan Stojanovic has been given a contract until 2025 with an option for another season. For the 29-year-old, who was born in Vorarlberg, it will be his debut in the home Oberhaus. The former North Macedonian youth team player has played abroad for the past twelve years, most recently with Jahn Regensburg.
In Austria, Stojanovic was active for FC Lustenau in the 2nd division in the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons. After that, the 1.96 m man played for FC Bologna, Crotone, St. Gallen, Middlesbrough, Ingolstadt and St. Pauli. Now he comes from Regensburg on a free transfer, relegated to the third German division. “Dejan is from Vorarlberg, who has a wealth of experience and is willing to take on responsibility in our team,” said Altach sports director Roland Kirchler in a club broadcast.
With a view to the future, the club also signed 17-year-old goalie Paul Piffer from the Vorarlberg Academy until 2026. Keeper Jakob Odehnal, whose contract runs until 2025, will appear on loan for FC Dornbirn next season.
