The announcement regarding trips available with the company is still active on the official OceanGate website. It mentions that two tours are available and will take place in 2024, one from June 12th to 20th and another from June 21st to 29th.
The website also mentions that the 2023 expedition is still underway and that those interested should look for the company to find out regarding the next available dates.
As we can see above, the video attached to the OceanGate portal and the description say that the submarine that will be used in the next expeditions is identical to the Titan, which disappeared in the ocean and imploded with its crew last week.
The page says that there are 6 seats available on the submarine: one for the pilot and five for passengers. The complete tour takes regarding 8 hours and will descend approximately 3.8 km into the ocean to reach the wreckage of the Titanic that sank in 1912.
The cost to carry out the expedition is US$ 250,000 per person, around R$ 1.2 million in direct conversion. This price includes equipment, private accommodation, training and meals.
On the other hand, the gateway TMZ points out that the travel contract has a term that exempts OceanGate from any liability in case of accidents during the tour, in addition to not having personal travel insurance.
Speaking of the Titan submarine, its wreckage arrived today at the port in Canada, where we can already see images of parts of the imploded submersible.
