As a result of the accident, Okinawa’s Nago Port near the Orion Beer Factory and surrounding fishing ports were stained red.

The Orion Brewery said that it repaired the coolant leak around 9:30 am on the same day.

In an interview with the Yomiuri Shimbun, a plant official said, “The cooling water is harmless to the human body and will not affect the marine environment.”

Orion Beer is said to be preparing countermeasures, such as installing sensors to detect leaks in the future.
