Brazil has more smart cell phones (242 million) than inhabitants (214 million), according to data from FGV (Getulio Vargas Foundation) and the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics). Smartphones have been increasingly used by Brazilians for communication, entertainment and even work since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020.
According to the FGVfactors such as isolation and distance learning and working during the health crisis will leave permanent marks on the way in which the country’s citizens transact, live and see IT (Information Technology), “resulting in a model that combines the face-to-face with remote (blended and non-hybrid) in a solution that integrates and enhances human and digital capabilities”.
In the same survey, released in May 2022, Brazil should exceed 216 million computers (desktop, notebook and tablet) in use at the beginning of 2023, reaching 1 computer per inhabitant (100% per capita).
Aware of this scenario, Clubfix – a digital insurer focused on cell phones and electronics -, debuted in the electronics insurance market with a main strategy focused on B2B (business between companies).
Sérgio Prazeres, CEO of Clubfix, says that, even though it is a digital insurance company, the company believes that the insurance broker is a fundamental part of this market. In this sense, a partnership was signed with Ouroseg Corretagem de Seguros LTDA, recognized in the insurance market as a specialized broker.
With operations in nine Brazilian states, Ouroseg works with specialists in different areas, with emphasis on national and international transport insurance, fleet, life and health benefits and equipment.
“To launch this partnership, Clubfix, through Ouroseg, closed the equipment insurance of one of the biggest players in equipment leasing in the country, with almost ten thousand items leased with a focus on notebooks and cell phones for companies”, explains Prazeres. “Ouroseg understands that Clubfix was chosen as the insurer because it has a commitment to settle claims within five days”, he adds.
The businessman says that Ouroseg headed the operation between Clubfix and the equipment leasing company, presenting the insurer’s differentials in relation to the market of traditional companies.
“The market was in need of a modern insurance company, capable of delivering what the customer needs”, points out Cristiano Albert Schweizer, commercial director of Ouroseg.
From Schweizer’s perspective, Clubfix’s business boils down to “understanding to serve”, which is in line with Ouroseg’s model. “The biggest challenge in the insurance market has always been the evolution of traditional insurers in terms of products and coverage”, he says.
“With the flexibility of Susep (Superintendência de Seguros Privados – autarchy linked to the Ministry of Economy), new insurers with robust products, differentiated coverage and agility in issuing, regulating and paying claims, are contributing to enable brokers to grow exponentially”, affirm.
To conclude, Ouroseg’s commercial director points out that “the company’s expectation is to be among the main insurance brokers in Brazil, becoming a leader in the issuance of electronics policies and advancing in business at a national level, with exponential growth”.
