Mumbai to Host ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: Schedule, Venues, and Matches Revealed

Mumbai: The ICC announced the schedule of this year’s Cricket World Cup in India on Tuesday. The World Cup will be played from October 5 to November 19. The World Cup matches will be held in 10 venues including Dharamshala, Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai and Bengaluru.

10 teams are competing in the World Cup. This year’s World Cup is in a round-robin format where all teams compete once morest nine other teams in the league stage. The top four teams with the most points will advance to the semi-finals.

In the group stage of this year’s World Cup, the hosts India have to run and play matches. Because India’s nine matches in the league stage are at nine venues. No other team has this situation.

India’s first match of the World Cup will be once morest Australia on October 8 at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. India will then face Afghanistan on the 11th at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The much-awaited India-Pakistan match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Hyderabad on October 15. Later, the team has to go to Pune to face Bangladesh. The match is on October 19. Then the match once morest New Zealand at the HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala on the 22nd. Then India’s next match is once morest England in Lucknow on 29th. India will face one of the qualifying teams at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 2. Then on November 5, India’s opponents will be South Africa at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. In the final match of the league stage, India’s opponents are the team that will play the qualifying round at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium. The match is on November 11.

The semi-finals will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 15 and the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on November 16. The final will be held in Ahmedabad on November 19.
