A Claranet, one of the leading specialists in cloud, cybersecurity, data, DevOps and managed services in Brazil, has just taken an important step in the search for leadership in the public cloud sector in Brazil. The company, which globally has more than 1,000 cloud certifications and 2,500 companies running solutions on its cloud, now reinforces its portfolio of public cloud services and products to fight for a market that should move between R$ 8 billion and R$ 10 billion a year in the country. And the sector, according to projections from the same institute, should grow, on average, 36.6% per year until 2026.
Over the last few years, following its business plan and market trends, the company has invested in and prioritized the areas of private cloud and cybersecurity. With both consolidated and continuing the strategy, the company announces investments to strengthen and expand its specific business unit for public cloud solutions and services.
In line with Claranet’s global operations model, the area is structured to understand customers’ needs, building offers and products according to these demands – Claranet’s consultative profile is ideal for supporting customers’ decisions when choosing cloud model best suited to your business. Always with the objective of acting in a differentiated way and supporting innovation in companies, the division will have a capillarity to serve from small companies to large organizations.
To achieve the business unit’s objectives, Claranet plans to invest heavily in the qualification of its workforce through the creation of a public cloud excellence program, investing in training and certifications inside and outside Brazil. In addition to assembling a team of specialists to respond from pre-sales to customer support, the company is working on building a Center of Excellence specialized in public cloud. The proposal is to deliver end-to-end services to customers. “The center should start operating in the coming months and will be responsible for all public cloud services within Claranet, including pre-sales, first service, creation of products and offers, customer service and operations”, details Duarte.
Goals for the area
Claranet already operates with the public cloud offer since its arrival in Brazil. Globally, the company has areas structured to serve this market, with a presence in 11 countries. “The proposal now is to accelerate the operation and consolidation of this area”, explains Duarte. “The market is experiencing a moment when organizations want – and need – an infrastructure that allows them to innovate faster, with efficiency, flexibility and reduced costs”, he says, adding that the goal is for the area to accompany the company’s growth, which plans to double in size in terms of revenue next year.
Claranet assigned experts to the business unit. The area should triple the number of professionals in the area within 12 months, and expects to reach 1,000 employees in the business unit in the coming years. Initially, there are more than 40 new positions open. The client portfolio, currently made up of approximately 2,500 companies that use Claranet’s public cloud management and support services, is also expected to grow at an accelerated pace, doubling in size in the period.
Claranet’s proposal is to integrate public cloud offerings with those delivered by the company’s other business areas – private cloud, cybersecurity, data, DevOps and managed services. The goal, according to Duarte, is for public cloud businesses to include value-added services offered by other areas in a 50/50 ratio.
