The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, promulgated the reform to the Organic Law of Community Councils this Monday, June 26.
He did it in the middle of the seventh edition of his Con Maduro+ program and asked that it be executed to give popular power more prominence.
He indicated that this will “deepen the organization” of people in their communities and thus be able to solve problems, in addition to responding to the plans and projects they have.
With this legal text, it is also expected that it will be possible to “regulate, establish and organize the operation of the Community Councils as a territorial entity and community government instance, guaranteeing the leading participation for the direct exercise of community public policies.”
Last week it was approved by qualified majority in the National Assembly (AN) and now it is promulgated for its execution.
Maduro asked that through it, you can “establish mechanisms to listen and debate permanently to find solutions with our people.”
Willy Medina, representative of the AN), stressed that the reform of this Law was achieved thanks to public consultations at the national level with the leaders of this instance, which yielded proposals adapted to the problems presented by the communities.
Once once more, he thanked the National Assembly for speeding up the changes to this law.
