With the increasing needs of society for support and assistance to maintain mental health, 4 female entrepreneurs succeeded in launching emerging projects in this vital, important and non-traditional sector, with the support and guidance of the “Sharjah Business Women Council”, which provided advice and facilities in cooperation with government and private institutions, and promoted These initiatives are considered models that open the way for more future projects in this sector, and they also benefited from digital solutions in the field of mental and psychological health, which provided them with the possibilities of reaching wider segments of the target audience.
Among the 34 sectors in which it provides support to women entrepreneurs, the Sharjah Business Women Council chose these projects as examples of the Council’s contributions to transforming the initiatives and ideas of members into successful companies, highlighting them as investment experiences that seek to improve the quality of life of society, and at the same time promote the endeavor to change perceptions. Stereotypes surrounding mental health projects encourage women entrepreneurs to be more innovative in this field.
1- “Baraka Studio”… focus on quality of life
“Baraka Studio” is the first platform of its kind dedicated exclusively to women, which focuses on the physical and mental health of women in the Emirate of Sharjah. It was established by Bashayer Al-Obaidly in response to the virus (Covid 19) pandemic. Since its establishment in 2020, it has succeeded in making a positive impact on the lives of hundreds of women. They can focus on themselves and take care of their well-being and overall quality of life by practicing Yoga, Pilates, Barre and other well-being therapies in a quiet, open and free space.
2- “Hala Jari”…a platform to communicate with neighbors
“Hala Jari” is an electronic application created by Dr. Mona Obaid Al-Dabbah to help individuals overcome feelings of loneliness and alienation when moving to new neighborhoods. The application works as a social platform that connects neighbors who share the same interests and ideas, and encourages them to communicate, interact and build strong friendship and brotherhood relationships. The application also provides useful information regarding the facilities surrounding the neighborhood, and allows users to express their opinions and observations regarding their communities and neighborhoods. In doing so, the application contributes to improving the mental health of individuals, increasing their satisfaction with their lives, and enhancing their sense of citizenship and belonging.
3- “Mternley”… Mental health for mothers
Or (maternallyapp.com) is an electronic platform founded by Yasmine Al-Moallem, and aims to promote the mental health of mothers, from the stage of pregnancy until two years following birth, by providing scientific and counseling resources for mothers, and a social support network from other mothers. The platform also connects mothers and health care providers who specialize in the field of mental health, through partnerships with a number of globally accredited and trusted institutions. The project’s vision is summed up in society’s acceptance of mental health, and the realization of the dream of providing mental health care for all around the world. It was highly praised by global leaders, investors and experts when its idea was presented at Expo 2020 Dubai.
4- “My Fit Baby”… Professionally dealing with children’s emotions
“Myfitbaby.com” (myfitbaby.com) is a website that helps in dealing with infants according to the latest international methods. The site, which was created by Dinara Zhumabaek within Tech Hive, features a network of trainers and professional nutritionists in the world, who offer private one-hour online sessions on a variety of services, such as “Can a child sleep in a crib?” vibrating?” And “Why does my child cry while eating solid foods?”, and other topics of health guidance on various matters related to infants, which contribute to reading the emotions of infants and analyzing their psychological tendencies and desires and their causes, and how to deal with them in a scientific and professional manner.
Council support for mental health projects
Since its establishment in 2002, the Sharjah Business Women Council has sought to develop the skills of female entrepreneurs and discover their full potential in the field of business, through training, mentoring and capacity building. The Council has shown flexibility and innovation during the Corona crisis, as it launched electronic initiatives for remote communication of members, and organized workshops related to mental health and well-being and promoting positivity in the professional and personal lives of women.
