The Olympic champion in the video works on an exercise bike.

TASS, 26 June. 2006 Olympic champion in figure skating in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov on Monday posted the first video from the hospital on his Instagram page (banned in Russia; owned by Meta Corporation, which is recognized as extremist in Russia).

In the video, the athlete works on an exercise bike in prostheses.

On January 10, Kostomarov was admitted to intensive care with pneumonia. Later, a TASS source said that the skater was in serious condition and was in a medically induced coma in a hospital in Kommunarka. Kostomarov was connected to the ECMO machine, on January 24 the need for this disappeared, but the skater remained septic and had problems with blood circulation. On February 7, a source told TASS that both feet had been amputated for Kostomarov. On February 20, it became known that the skater had a spasm of cerebral vessels, but doctors quickly responded to the situation.

On May 8, the skater posted a message on Instagram, noting that “many difficulties are yet to come.” He expressed the hope that he would cope with them thanks to relatives, relatives and doctors who pulled him “from the next world.”
