Hannibal Gaddafi’s Hunger Strike: Updates on His Health Condition and Fight for Release

After he was admitted to the hospital yesterday, Thursday, due to his deteriorating health condition, it was reported that Hannibal Gaddafi, son of the late Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi, suffers from severe infections in the spine and hypotension, as a result of his hunger strike.

The information indicated that “Gaddafi was transferred to Hotel Dieu Hospital in Ashrafieh following his health deteriorated, and he stayed there for four hours, where he underwent the necessary medical examinations under the supervision of a staff of doctors and nurses.”

Since the third of June, Hannibal Gaddafi has continued his open hunger strike, in protest once morest the Lebanese judiciary’s continued detention of him for 8 years, in a move that would bring his file back to the fore once more.

The information indicated that “a specialized doctor is supervising the follow-up of treatment for Hannibal Gaddafi inside his cell in the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces building, and that his condition is stable.”

The information confirmed that Gaddafi is continuing his hunger strike, and he only drinks water to take medicine.
