Samsung’s A series is positioned in the field of mid-range smartphones. For these approximately 324 francs on the internet in the 128 GB version, the Korean makes reasonable concessions on multiple characteristics. Correct characteristics
After a conventional start-up, we find that the usual Galaxy interface sometimes seems slightly less responsive. Surfing, in particular, sometimes seems a little less fluid, even if the device is 5G and capable of ingesting several hundred Mbits / sec from the web. Technical sheet.
We are therefore tempted to launch the AnTuTu benchmark to get an idea of what this opus really has in store, somewhat restrained by a 2.4 GHz octacore Exynos in-house processor and 8 GB of RAM for storage space. 256 GB for the version at around 400 francs that we are testing.

After a few minutes, the verdict falls. This Samsung Galaxy A54 has to make do with a score of around 616,000 points on the latest version of Android 13. For comparison, an Oppoo Reno 8 Pro is close to 850,000 points, while a Galaxy S23 Ultra exceeds 1,500,000 points. Obviously, the price of this latest model is also almost three times higher…
Note a beautiful 6.4-inch super AMOLED screen capable of displaying up to 120 frames per second. Under the “high quality glass”, a very efficient fingerprint scanner and a substantial 5000 mAh battery, delivered without a charger, unlike competitors, who sometimes offer fast charging.
A nice optic
For this price, Samsung offers a triple main photo sensor, whose resolution is sometimes close to 50 Mpx. The Korean claims to offer excellent performance, especially in low light. He also claims that video production is very simple. We will come back to this in the context of a comparison.
As a first conclusion, we retain the sleek design, an attractive price, but average general performance. The zoom seems limited to a factor of 10x, which is already nice, but without reaching the quality of the flagships of the brand. Finally, the possibility of inserting a microSD card of one TB is to be noted!
