But 0.9 liters of cola costs as much as 120 rubles.
One of the residents of Novosibirsk unexpectedly found a bottle of Coca-Cola produced in Russia in retail. On the 0.9-liter plastic, it was indicated that the soda was poured on February 3, 2023 in the Aleksandrovka farm in the Rostov region.
The manufacturer, judging by the label, was Coca-Cola HBC Eurasia with the permission of The Coca-Cola Company – and this is seven months following the brand officially left the Russian market. Now the local branch of Coca-Cola has been renamed Multon Partners, and the world-famous drink is produced at the same factories under the Dobry Cola brand.
Journalist of the NGS.ru website went to the placewhere they sold old new Russian cola. In a fruit stall, 900 ml of soda was sold for 120 rubles, the seller answered the reporter unfriendly: “The supplier carries, does not tell us, [откуда привезли]”. At the same time, the drink itself was not of the best quality – according to the buyer, the cola was “as if diluted and smelled strange.”
Novosibirsk also noticed problems with the bottle. Compared to Dobryi Cola, this container had a badly pasted label, as if glue was applied to Russian Coca-Cola literally by hand, and not automatically.
Top label Coca-Cola, bottom label “Good Cola”
NGS.ru even conducted a blind test, and Coca-Cola from Russia-2023 unexpectedly outstripped Dobry Cola and two types of original cola bottled in Afghanistan and Kazakhstan. “Pseudo-Russian cola even seemed to perform well (6.1 points out of 10), but its scores turned out to be the most controversial – from 1 to 8. Apparently, this type of soda has accustomed consumers to what can be politically correct called excessive food tolerance,” explained in editorial.
But all the same, the authors of the investigation believe that Coca-Cola really left Russia, does not produce a drink under a world-famous brand, and a sample from a fruit stall in Novosibirsk is a banal fake. True, the question still remains, who buys a liter of Coca-Cola for 120 rubles.
