Winnipeg Jets forward Pierre-Luc Dubois is reportedly regarding to be traded to the Kings and sign a contract extension with the Los Angeles club.

According to what the sports media The Athletic said on Sunday, the Californian organization and the Quebecer are currently negotiating the terms of a new agreement for several years. The transaction would be completed once the contract was drafted and accepted by both sides.

According to the journalist of The Fourth Period David Pagnotta, the Jets would notably obtain forwards Gabriel Vilardi and Alex Iafallo in return for Dubois. Manitoba center Jansen Harkins is also believed to be involved in the deal.

Dubois is coming off his best statistical campaign of his career. In 73 games, he hit the target 27 times and provided 36 assists, for 63 points.

The native of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts is no longer happy with the Jets, he who has worn the colors of this formation since January 2021. He began his career in the National League with the Columbus Blue Jackets, the team which made him the third player selected in the 2016 draft.

The possible and increasingly probable transaction sending Dubois to the Kings might have the effect of a cold shower for many fans of the Montreal Canadiens. The Belle Province club and the name of the 25-year-old hockey player have been linked in rumors for a while now.
