This function simplifies the visualization of a sequence of tweets, so that you can read them more easily and less visual information, which can distract you.

How to Use Twitter Reader View on iPhone/iPad

Open Twitter and find a desired tweet stream. Then tap the icon represented by an open book (in the upper right corner) to open this mode.

Once you’re inside it, use the controls at the bottom to add it to your saved items and change the text size (which can be small, medium, or large). To exit this view, tap the “X”.

How to Use Reader View on Twitter on the Web

With the conversation open, click on the reader icon (in the upper right corner). In the top left part, you’ll find buttons dedicated to saving it to your saved items and changing the font size. Select the “X” to exit this mode.
