The Tramelote edition of the Bernese Cantonal Wrestling Festival has delivered its verdict. Sunday, at the end of the event, two winners shared the title. They are Fabian Staudenmann, victorious over Killian Wenger in the final pass, and Matthias Aeschbacher.

But in Tramelan, a wrestler from the Bernese Jura also stood out. This is Matthieu Burger, from Prés-d’Orvin, who won a crown. He completed his six assists with four wins and two draws. In a familiar setting, Matthieu Burger did not tremble: “It’s always great to fight in the Bernese Jura, and all the more so when you know half of the public”. This element did not disturb him, however: “The pressure came mainly from the fact that the Bernese Cantonal Festival is one of the most difficult events in Switzerland”, he explains.

A total of nearly 6,000 spectators took part in the Festival in the Tramelots stands on Sunday. At the time of the balance sheet, the co-president of the demonstration had reason to smile. Hervé Gullotti highlights the good-natured spirit that reigned throughout the weekend. For him, the success of this event also provides a great showcase for the region. /cg-amo
