Marc Marquez Misses MotoGP Dutch Grand Prix

Spanish cyclist Marc Marquez, six-time MotoGP world champion, will miss the Dutch Grand Prix at the Essen circuit, Sunday, because he has not recovered from injuries he sustained in Germany’s Sachsnerring last week, according to his Honda team.

And the Japanese manufacturer said, in an official statement, on Sunday: “Marc Marquez will not participate in the Grand Prix at the Essen circuit, due to his incomplete fitness due to the injuries he sustained during the German Grand Prix last week, which worsened in Assen.”

Marquez ranks nineteenth in the riders’ standings, struggling this year to finish the races, noting that he fell five times last weekend in Germany.

The Spanish cyclist suffered a strong fall during the “warm-up” period that preceded the German award, which caused a fracture in the finger of his left hand, and forced him not to take the starting badge for the race at the Sachsnerring circuit, where he won 11 times in all categories.

Marquez, the winner of 59 races, continued to be disappointed at the Dutch Essen circuit, as he fell twice, Friday and Saturday, during the eighth round of the World Motorcycle Championship, and finished seventeenth in the sprint race. The 30-year-old is still looking for his first victory in the MotoGP category since the end of 2021.
