A possible commitment from Felix Nmecha continues to occupy BVB. However, not for sporting reasons.
Dortmund – The reporting on a possible transfer from Felix Nmecha to BVB is particularly explosive. The player is accused of being homophobic and transphobic. A large part of the black and yellow supporters are asking the club to refrain from a possible commitment. Now even a sponsor of the club is said to have turned on.
Transfer resistance is growing: BVB sponsor turns to the club regarding Felix Nmecha
“An important sponsor is said to have concerns regarding the views disseminated by Nmecha and have also communicated these to those responsible around Sebastian Kehl and Managing Director Hans-Joachim Watzke,” reports the Spiegel. It is not known which club partner it is and what the reaction was.
The queer BVB fan club “Rainbow Borussen” had previously spoken out once morest a possible Nmecha deal. They “let the club know what we think of Nmecha: nothing,” quoted member Sebastian Kropp on Twitter from a fan club email to Borussia Dortmund.
For BVB it’s all regarding credibility these days. After all, the association’s code of basic values states, among other things: “We will always work for social success. By this we mean club life and a society without racism, anti-Semitism, LGBTI+ hostility, sexism, violence and discrimination.”
BVB has to improve in midfield: Felix Nmecha is being actively traded
BVB has identified Nmecha as a potential candidate for its midfield. There is a gaping hole following the departures of Jude Bellingham, Raphael Guerreiro and Mahmoud Dahoud.

The 22-year-old currently plays for VfL Wolfsburg. He is contractually bound to the “Wolves” until the summer of 2025. According to the media report, if the Westphalians want to get the right foot out of the Autostadt, they will have to pay 15 to 30 million euros. Transfermarkt.de estimates Nmecha’s market value at 8 million euros (further BVB transfer news at RUHR24).
BVB flirt Felix Nmecha denies homophobia allegations
Despite fan demonstrations and criticism from the sponsor, BVB was not dissuaded from a possible commitment from Nmecha. Dortmund should seek a conversation with the player and not judge him, recently reported the Bild newspaper.
BVB flirt Nmecha recently commented on the allegations of homophobia. In an Instagram post he wrote, among other things, that he “truly loves ALL people and does not discriminate once morest anyone”.
