Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper sources revealed the only source of financing Saudi club contracts with world stars, since the opening of the 2023 summer transfer market, in response to rumors regarding the intervention of the 4 major club departments concerned, in the process of financing deals.

Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper confirmed that the “attraction program”, which is led by the Saudi Professional League, is in charge of financing all contracts for Al-Hilal, Al-Nasr, Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahly during the current summer Mercato.

A private source told the newspaper, “There is no truth to what was circulated regarding clubs financing any of the deals that took place. All the deals that were announced over the past weeks were funded by the polarization program.”

Middle East sources continued, “The negotiations are taking place in coordination between the League and the CEOs of the four clubs, Al-Ittihad, Al-Nasr, Al-Hilal and Al-Ahly.”

Ittihad Jeddah club opened the first summer Mercato deals in 2023 when it signed French star Karim Benzema following the end of his contract with Spanish Real Madrid.

And 10 days following that resounding deal with the owner of the Golden Ball for the best player in the world 2022, Al-Ittihad signed the famous French midfielder, N’Golo Kante, following the expiration of his contract with Chelsea, England.

Al-Hilal club announced the first summer 2023 deals to include Portuguese international midfielder Robin Neves from Wolverhampton, England, and is also close to including Senegalese defender Khalido Coulibaly from Chelsea.

Al-Nasr Club is close to launching its first deals this summer, including Moroccan international midfielder Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea.

Al-Ahly, newly promoted to the Saudi Roshen League, reached an initial agreement with Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy from Chelsea.
