Back from a festive weekend that started in Charleroi. Fans of flea markets and bric a brac meet all weekend long along the quays. The junk dealers have set up this Saturday morning and they should stay in place until tomorrow. Enough to be able to hunt non-stop for more than 24 hours.

Christina is a second-hand dealer. She is one of the 250 sellers who will stay there, on the Brocante des quais, for 24 hours. “Collectors have no time, they are there at all hours.”. Christina has prepared enough to last until Sunday. She even planned something to light her stand once the sun went down. “These are small solar lamps that are charging”, she shows. “That way bargain hunters can still come and see the goods.”

Relaunching a flea market continuously is a desire of the organizers. “The junk dealers, either they pack up what is not possible, since the next day they have to be there, or they stay put, so we thought why not have them exhibit during this time?”explains Thierry.

The night flea market which promises to be peaceful, at least in terms of the weather. Neither rain nor wind are forecast for tonight.
Joël, flea market, has prepared a camp bed to rest if necessary. “I don’t think he’s going to be used much, it’s just to rest for a few quarters of an hour…”he confides.
And if for the moment the bargain hunters are not yet at the rendezvous of bargains, the idea of ​​a nocturnal flea market seduces the public. “For people who can’t stand the heat less, or to do good business when there are fewer people, or even to park and take bigger coins”or for “people who work during the day“, an auspicious occasion for bargain hunters.
