The deputy head of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, said that the whole world would be on the brink of disaster if Russia’s nuclear weapons fell into the hands of “bandits”.

Medvedev’s warning came Saturday from the Wagner Group, which he described as a “bandit group”, and the possibility of its seizure of Russian nuclear weapons, with its progress towards Moscow.

The former president of Russia said that his country would not allow the Wagner rebellion to turn into a coup or a global crisis.

Russian sources indicated that the Wagner Group’s forces, backed by 150 military vehicles, are advancing in Lipetsk, 340 km from Moscow.

The armed rebellion, announced by the commander of Wagner’s forces, Yevgeny Prigozhin, once morest the Russian state sparked internal reactions, most of which focused on calling for rallying around Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Prigozhin was not satisfied with the armed rebellion, but went so far as to challenge Putin, and rejected his speech, while Wagner’s forces said in a statement attributed to him that “Russia will have a new president.”
