The arrest took place on November 2, 2022 in Vienna-Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus. Since then, the man has been in extradition custody. Electronic devices and cash were confiscated at his Vienna address. The 33-year-old is now to be charged in the US with operating a criminal Darknet drug market, as announced by US Attorney Matthew M. Graves and Acting Special Agent Sarah Linden of the FBI’s Washington Field Office Criminal and Cyber ​​Division.

According to the indictment, the 33-year-old set up a so-called Monopoly Market (“Monopoly”) on the Darknet. Illegal substances were traded there. Sellers were able to advertise their products, interested parties sometimes received photos of the respective stock, and a payment agreement was supplied in the form of a written template. The 33-year-old is said to have received commissions for successfully completed transactions.
