RCN Radio Launches RCN’s FM: The Evolution of Colombia’s Largest Radio Network

RCN Radio launches the evolution of its information system, starting next July 17, to strengthen and lead the spoken programming in the mornings, by merging the newscasts of the Basic Chain and The FM in order to give space to the new news system RCN’s FM.

RCN’s FM will have the largest radio coverage in the entire country and will be broadcast to 34 cities, 763 municipalities through 47 stations of the Chain; It will also be heard, through Directv audio channels 920 and 921, the Claro Música audio channels, the digital portals and applications of RCN Radio and affiliates.

Additionally, the video transmission will continue on the Nuestra Tele Internacional signal from 6:00 am to 7:00 am, which is broadcast in Colombia on Directv channel 135, Claro Video channel 478 and Tigo channel 155; with coverage in the Caribbean islands, and the following 24 countries: Australia, Spain, Argentina, Aruba, Barbados, Bonaire, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Curacao, Ecuador, El Salvador, United States, Guatemala , Honduras, Panama, Puerto Rico, Peru, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Uruguay.

The new project, La FM de RCN will be directed by the economist and journalist Luis Carlos Velezand the table will be made up of his current La FM team with Darcy Quinn, Juan Lozano, Fernando Quijano Velazco, Santiago Ángel, Azury Chamah, William Calderón and Dominica Duque, and will be complemented by Yanelda Jaimes, El Capi Romero Barliza and Jesús Prado .

The RCN FM will have the permanent international participation of Juan Carlos Iragorri in Madrid, María Molina in Washington, Diana Mateus in Miami and Marcos Morim in Caracas; in addition to the national information service with more than 100 journalists directed by Esperanza Rico.

The RCN FM will implement a robust scheme of local newscasts from 5 to 6 in the morning and half a day in 33 cities.
