Kochi ∙ The Crime Branch said that K. Sudhakaran was trapped in the fake antiquities fraud case in which Monsan Mavunkal is the main accused. Sudhakaran met Monson 12 times. The meetings took place from 2018 until Monson’s arrest. Sudhakaran has no definite answer regarding the meetings. Sudhakaran told the crime branch that he had not received the money.
Sudhakaran was released on bail following the arrest was registered due to court orders. Sudhakaran’s arrest was recorded following seven and a half hours of questioning at the crime branch office in Kalamasery. Sudhakaran is the second accused in the case where Monson is the first accused. The High Court had ordered bail in case of arrest in the case of Rs 50,000 and two sureties in the same amount.
Sudhakaran also gave an affidavit in the High Court that he would fully cooperate with the investigation. After being released on bail, Sudhakaran said that the police did not have the evidence to punish him. It was understood when the interrogation was over. I will not hide anywhere.
