Activision Blizzard has announced that it will carry out the shutdown of the Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera servers on September 21, as its development teams will focus on “future Call of Duty content”.

This installment of the Call of Duty saga is the rebranded version of the original Call of Duty: Warzone, the first standalone battle royale in the saga released in 2020, which was renamed Warzone Caldera following the release of Warzone 2.0 in 2022.

Now, the video game development company has announced that it will close its servers for Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera on September 21 of this year, so users will no longer have access to online services and the original Warzone experience. .

As Activision has explained through a statement on its website, this decision is due to the fact that, from now on, its developer teams “will focus on future Call of Duty content”, including the current free experience of Warzone.

In this sense, the company has valued the “incredible experiences” that Warzone has offered to players of the Call of Duty franchise “since its first launch.” Likewise, he has thanked the entire community and the developers for making Warzone “an incredible place to play together.”

As for the content that players have purchased in Warzone Caldera that belongs to the installments of Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War or Vanguard, it will continue to be available in those games. In addition, Activision has also ensured that the closure of Warzone Caldera will have “no impact on the current gameplay” of Warzone 2.0, nor its inventory or player progression.

Following this line, the company has recalled that for those players “who have not jumped into the current activities of Warzone”, a large number of game options await them on three ‘battle royale’ maps, in addition to other novelties such as the version beta of the DMZ game mode with up to five different zones.

The developer has also stressed that players “should prepare for more Warzone content” on both consoles and PC. In part, thanks to the “new era” of ‘battle royale’ that is on the march with the launch of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile.
