The story began in the suburbs… A child carrying a schoolbag bought drugs to use them. This incident caused a shock to the Information Division during monitoring one of the promoters’ dens, and the result was the largest operation carried out by the Division, which involved the most dangerous networks of wholesale drug trade and promotion within the Mount Lebanon governorate, during which it managed to arrest nine involved. 46 kg of narcotics were seized, including 34 kg of cocaine, packed in more than 13,000 envelopes.

In the details, information was available to the Information Division of the Internal Security Forces regarding an armed network distributing drugs “wholesale” within the Mount Lebanon governorate and targeting a large segment of Lebanese youth, especially school and university students.

Subsequently, the specialized units affiliated with it were tasked with carrying out a process of careful monitoring of the dens of this network in the Dahiyeh region, as it was confirmed that this network distributes wholesale drugs on a large scale and in huge quantities and poses a serious threat to social security.

As a result of the field and informational efforts carried out by the Division, it was able to determine the full identities of the members of the network, and they are:

– p. g. (Born in 1984, Lebanese)

– h. p. (Born in 1992, Lebanese, wanted for drug offenses)

– p. M. (Born in 1985, Lebanese)

– M. M. h. (Born in 1988, Lebanese, wanted by virtue of a summary judgment for the crime of threatening and impersonating a security person)

– M. M. h. (Born in 1999, Lebanese)

– a. Dr.. (Born in 1999, Syrian)

– a. a. (Born in 1990, Syrian)

– A.H. (Born in 1998, Syrian)

– M. M. (Born in 1995, Syrian)

In light of the foregoing, the division developed a plan to raid the network’s nests knowing that its members are armed and carry out counter-surveillance operations in anticipation of raids. Orders were given to the special force in the division to implement the plan and work to arrest all those involved.

In the period between 3 and 5-6-2023, and following careful monitoring and control operations that lasted for several continuous days, the Special Force in the division carried out the largest raids and ambushes in the areas of the Choueifat desert, Aramoun, Kfarshima, and Dahr al-Baydar, which resulted in the arrest of all nine of the aforementioned. By searching them and the cars and motorbikes used by them in transportation, distribution and promotion operations, and their places of residence accredited as warehouses for storing contraband, large quantities of different types of narcotics were found packed into envelopes exceeding 13,000 envelopes, with a total weight of 46 kg. Large sums of money in Lebanese pounds and US dollars, jewelry, 15 mobile phones, military weapons, a military quiver with ammunition, a hand grenade, three motorcycles and four cars.

By interrogating them, they admitted that they formed an armed network for drug trade and promotion “wholesale” within the Mount Lebanon governorate targeting young men, and the first admitted that he was in charge of transporting drugs from Baalbek to the Choueifat and Aramoun deserts. Both the second and the third admitted that they were responsible for storing and preserving the drugs in apartments designed for this purpose. The rest also admitted that they receive drugs and distribute them in various Lebanese regions and carry out control operations in the places of storage and distribution of narcotic substances.
