The Dynamic Island, the only pill we love
The iPhone 14 Pro Max retains this iconic Apple brand smartphone design with its stainless steel edges, flat edges and frosted glass back. The large 6.7-inch screen is an OLED panel in 2796 x 1290 pixel definition and with an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1 to 120 Hz, which saves battery power. One of the novelties comes from the brightness, if it is at 1000 cd / m² by default, it can point up to 2000 cd / m² with HDR mode and a completely dazzled light sensor.
But the revolution is at the level of the notch, the Dynamic Island. It’s a kind of small interactive pill with still a limited number of software features such as the possibility of launching the music player, but with a successful aesthetic and fluidity. The concept was so popular that some Android models began to design their own interactive island. The screen also incorporates a mode Always On which consumes almost nothing in battery thanks to the refresh rate blocked at 1 Hz.
Exceptional performance and battery life
Where the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max stand out from entry-level models, in addition to the Dynamic Island, is in performance. They run with the in-house A16 Bionic chip, which is capable of performing any task without slowing down or increasing the temperature since the SoC is never pushed to its limits. It is the only smartphone chip on the market capable of competing with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
In terms of photography, the iPhone 14 Pro Max brings some changes including a 48 Mpx main sensor, the other lenses remain on 12 Mpx. The pictures are of good quality but it still lacks rigor in terms of colors and saturation, the video mode is excellent. Let’s conclude on autonomy, a point on which the iPhone 14 Pro Max is a real champion since it can last two days without problems. However, we can complain regarding the somewhat slow charge, it takes regarding two hours to recover the entire battery.
