A parking dispute between neighbors led to a murder.
The man in his 70s who committed the crime by wielding a ‘Japanese sword’ was introduced to the media as an ‘aged martial artist’.

A villa in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do.
This morning (22nd), a report was received by the police that a stabbing incident occurred in the parking area of this villa.

The person who wielded the weapon was Sim Mo, a man in his 70s who lives on the first floor.
The victim, a neighbor in his 50s from the same villa, died following being taken to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest.
There are still bloodstains in front of the villa.
Mr. Sim, who lived on the first floor of the villa, brought a Japanese sword over 70 cm long and swung it at his neighbor on the fourth floor.
The reason for the gruesome sword fight was a parking dispute.
After being caught by the police, Shim said that the victim parked the truck in front of his house on the first floor and had a conflict over fumes.

Shim is a person who has been introduced to the media several times as an ‘aged martial artist’.
In 2015, he was also permitted to possess swords.

The police investigated the nearby CCTV to confirm the details of the crime, but just before the incident occurred, the power line was unplugged.
[이웃주민/음성변조 : “(CCTV가) 없어요. 5시 몇 분에 CCTV 코드가 빠져있었다 그러더라고. 새벽에.”]
Police are investigating the possibility that Sim planned the crime in advance and turned off the CCTV.
In addition, an arrest warrant was requested for Shim on charges of murder.
