Stanislav Markovski had a crazy idea three years ago, to invent the school… free, centered on management, international, open to all, even to those who have not Baccalaureat. Oh yeah, that was crazy. He did it. Already at the head of RH Reflex founded in Nice ten years ago – a training center dedicated to jobs related to tourism – this Bulgarian who speaks perfect French wanted to do more for young people. “The original idea was a second-chance school. For this somewhat clueless generation that is often misguided or poorly listened to. Then I pushed the idea. We opened ISIM, the higher institute international management, in Nice three years ago.”
Free school
In this building located in the heart of the Arénas district in Nice, you can pass a Bac equivalence in eight months; you can continue with a BTS – Isim offers five of the most requested at the national level – and even go as far as a master’s degree. “We started on the terrace of an apartment in northern Nice. We recruited our future students with Marc Eschamper, our director, who is great [lire par ailleurs]. Three years later, we are here on two floors, with 250 students trained by around forty teachers, and we represent 7% of the BTS market in the South Region.”
Nice rise for this young school. Its advantages ? It is free: it is remunerated on the work-study contracts that its managers must find. “It’s a crazy job to approach companies, but we have an excellent network. The idea is that the student only has to concentrate on his courses. We take care of the rest.” The students seem conquered: “The teachers are great”, “They listen to us”, “The atmosphere is nice”, “We are like a family”… can we hear in the corridors.
Internationale
Building on this success, Stanislav Markovski decided to open a second campus in La Valette-du-Var. Already thirty students registered, students that the director has already met, listened to and guided. Note that ISIM will take on an international dimension thanks to a partnership with Erasmus “to create links with other European countries. This is what we want for our students. Their success, but also openness to the world.“
“We must not let them go”
“I receive each candidate individually for 45 minutes.” Marc Eschamper is the director of Isim, a school founded in Nice three years ago. It is he who advises and directs each young person who comes knocking at the school’s door. “Listening is the most important thing in this job.” He knows the first names of the 280 students, always asks how things are going. “We must not let them go. Create links, constantly boost them. They are like that young people today. We adapt. And it works well.”
