Abu Dhabi: The country’s Ministry of Indigenization and Human Resources has issued another warning to private companies in the UAE. The ministry issued a fresh notification on Thursday recalling this as the deadline for completion of semi-annual indigenization rates is due to expire in the next 15 days.

Private firms in the UAE are required to complete one percent indigenization between January and June this year. The deadline for this is July 7. It also applies to all private establishments in the country employing more than fifty people. If the specified percentage of natives are not appointed following July 7, a fine of Dh42,000 will be levied for each remaining native to be appointed.

According to the indigenization rules that came into effect in the UAE last year, two percent indigenization is to be carried out every year. According to this, two percent indigenization has been completed by December last year. The next one per cent by the end of June this year and the remaining one per cent by December are to be appointed. In this way, by 2026, the UAE government has decided to secure a total of 10 percent of natives in private institutions in the country. Strong action is also being taken once morest institutions that try to manipulate the naturalization process.
