As reported, on Tuesday morning there was a fire in the VS 44 daycare building, which had been cleared for construction work. Today, those responsible got an overview of the extent of the damage during an on-site inspection. Tenor from City Councilor Dietmar Prammer: The most important thing is that no people have come into danger. A company has already been commissioned to record the damage and then eliminate or rehabilitate it accordingly.
For the school it was not the first incident this year. As early as March, Prammer was forced to close the VS 44 gym for the safety of the school children. Static problems had previously been identified in the course of a routine check, caused by a construction error in the hall ceiling. The city of Linz is already working on a renovation solution and is aiming for the work to be completed by autumn.
For the time being, gymnastics lessons had to be moved outdoors. In the meantime, the magistrate has reserved rooms in the Volkshaus Pichling up to and including October. The students are transported by a specially commissioned bus company.
After-school care is not restricted by the current fire, because it is currently taking place in a container class anyway and partly due to the dual use of school classes
