The editor-in-chief of the “180 Post” website, journalist Hussein Ayoub, saw that “there is a dilemma in the Sunni community related to the reference, as some are not yet convinced that the era of Saudi dealings with Lebanon is no longer the same as before 2019, as it has ended and changed, and the Sunnis have not yet abandoned the idea of Saudi sponsorship of the Sunni reality in Lebanon.

In an interview via “Spot Shot” within the “Viewpoint” program, Ayoub said: “If the Saudi continues to refuse to talk regarding a Sunni discourse in Lebanon that is rather patriotic, and this is what Saudi Arabia emphasized on several occasions, then in my opinion the Qatari is the first qualification to replace it with Sunnis in Lebanon, he is the closest to this mission.

He continued, “President Saad Hariri had to take the decision to stay away from Saudi Arabia since 2017, following his release from prison, in order to work on producing a Sunni leadership free from any Arab or Gulf umbrella, and thus to impose himself and build his credibility in the Sunni street.”

Journalist Hussein Ayoub concluded, stressing that “today, following Saad Hariri stopped political work, he still owns 60% of the Sunni street, so how if he worked in politics and services and announced that he no longer wanted political money flowing from Saudi Arabia? He would have found himself today at the table negotiating with the Saudis.” “.
