We are far from the thousands of documents sometimes discovered on a computer in the context of suspicion of possession and dissemination of child pornography images. Nevertheless, the name communicated by an American organization specializing in tracking pedophiles on the Web alerted investigators.
The Cinacien (born in 1972) was convicted for similar acts three times. He risks 24 months with a possible suspended probation.
The defendant must respond to three charges: possession/acquisition of child pornography images, access to sites and dissemination. In fact, on his computer, we found a (only) video. And, on one of his phones, specific research and documents. The man decides to defend himself alone and recognizes the facts. He also mentions the fact that, as a minor, he would have been sexually abused and wrongly accused.
This is not what concerns the court. In fact, the record of the inhabitant of Ciney includes three convictions: one for indecent assault on a minor under 16 years of age. He was also sentenced for exploitation in debauchery and possession of child pornography. As the public prosecutor explains, “even if we are not faced with hundreds of thousands of documents, there are specific antecedents”. All accompanied by a drinking problem.
In the case mentioned, it is therefore a single video. The prosecution is not opposed to therapeutic care. He therefore requires a 24-month sentence accompanied by a probationary suspension and a fine of €800. Judgment is expected on September 13.
