Among the few names appearing in this list, there is that of Aurélie Dejaiffe. After graduating in law from UCLouvain in 2009, Aurélie Dejaiffe pursued additional studies (master’s degree in human rights then master’s degree in tax sciences) while beginning her career in the legal world. Having become an investigating judge almost two years ago, Aurélie Dejaiffe was notably a legal secretary at the Brussels Court of Appeal.
Those who have already crossed her path describe her as a “big boss who advocates a very human approach to justice”.

A lawyer – who has already worked with her several times – confides that “she is a rather discreet young woman, who is committed to doing things well. It is often believed that, because she is a young magistrate, she doesn’t know much regarding it. It’s a mistake to think that”.
And a magistrate added: “She rubbed shoulders with the older generation of the judiciary, it also allowed her to learn a lot on the ground”.
Aurélie Dejaiffe has already had to deal with important files, but nothing equivalent to the Qatargate affair. Does she have the shoulders strong enough to carry out such a case? “It’s true that she inherits a huge mess, admits a lawyer. But she is not starting from scratch and she already knows enough regarding the case to be able to continue the investigation smoothly. This will undoubtedly be one of the most important files of his career. This is the opportunity, precisely, to show that she has solid shoulders”.
