Unter has pending its response to the salary offer from the Río Negro government for the June-August period.
Initially, UPCN partially accepted the proposed increase and this wednesday ATE rejected it, with a call for a strike for next Thursday June 29th.
The teachers’ union had already convened its Congress for tomorrow, Thursday 22, in the Almafuerte (Huergo) section, but, later, it was decided to adhere to the CTERA national strike due to the repression in Jujuy.

The days following the parity allowed us to notice that the union’s position would come closer due to the declaration of “insufficient” of the government proposal, which consists of an 8% increase in salaries for June; 3% in July and 12% in August.
The increase proposed for July concentrates the union questioning. In its acceptance, UPCN even claims to re-negotiate that percentage promptly.
The Río Negro government validated the acceptance of 8% for June and, therefore, resolved its liquidation with the next assets, without waiting for the unions to accept their offer.
On the occasion of the joint discussion, Unter’s representation assessed its position of bimonthly reviews in the face of the “inflationary context” and, in addition, raised “the need to make effective the recovery of the lag produced between the percentage increase” and accumulated inflation in January-May of 42.22%.
He asked the provincial government to “offer a serious proposal, which provides for the necessary increases in the face of the escalating inflation that affects the purchasing power” of teachers. “Salaries are not a ranking, they are a labor right.”
