O Brazil is recognized (negatively) for being among the countries with the iPhones most expensive in the world — something that, of course, directly impacts the acquisition of the latest models, which are more expensive.

To exactly compare the different acquisition capabilities around the world, the World of Statistics shared a list which shows how much of the average annual salary is committed in different countries to buy a iPhone 14 Pro de 128GB.

Predictably, Brazil is at the bottom of the list, in 39th placeso that 38% of the average Brazilian annual salary is committed to the value of a 128GB iPhone 14 Pro.

Overall, the list is headed by Switzerlandwhere the model equals 1.8% of annual salary, followed by USA (2%). Portugal appears in 28th place (11.3%) and the list closes with Nigeriawhere the device demands more than 105% local average annual wage.

It is worth noting that, according to data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), released by People’s Mailthe average earnings of Brazilians reached R$2.891 in the quarter ended in April — which gives, annually, R$34.692.

Furthermore, as pertinent raised by 9to5Mac, it is important to keep in mind that prices are not directly comparable in all countries, as some regions include sales tax, as is the case in Brazil. Still, the analysis shows, in a relative way, how some countries really value the salary of citizens.
