The former vice president of Colombia, Francisco Santos referred to the death of Police Colonel Óscar Dávila Torresone of those involved in the scandal of Laura Sarabia, the former chief of staff of President Gustavo Petro.

Through his Twitter account, the former vice president questioned the national government for its handling of the investigation. At first, he pointed out that: “it is not up to the president to talk regarding an investigation.”

Oscar Davila committed suicide

Francisco Santos referred to the president’s statements, as he assured that “Police lieutenant colonel Oscar Dávila, attached to the security of the Presidency of the Republic, has died by suicide.”

In turn, he added that he feels calm because “fortunately he is investigating the CTI.” On the other hand, Francisco Santos questioned the details of the colonel’s death, since he considers that the bullet wounds are not clear: “Was it one or two shots?”

Other questions that Santos launched into the air involve the lawyer Miguel Ángel del Río: “What kind of escort leaves the weapon in the car?”, “What did you tell the lawyer Miguel Ángel Del Río?”

Likewise, he questioned the reasons that Óscar Dávila would have to end his life, since he had sent his family to Europe and also expressed his intention to collaborate with the Prosecutor’s Office.

However, the lawyer Miguel Ángel del Río was in charge of reminding Francisco Santos of the pending accounts he has with the courts for the accusations of former paramilitary chief Salvatore Mancuso.

“Rather you answer for the indications in the creation of a capital bloc”commented the lawyer when questioned by Francisco Santos regarding the suicide of Colonel Óscar Dávila.

Miguel Ángel del Río was referring to Mancuso’s recent statements before the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP), where he reaffirmed that former Vice President Francisco Santos requested that a bloc be created in Bogotá to counteract the guerrillas.

“Francisco Santos came representing the Colombian oligarchy, because in the capital they were concerned regarding the arrival of the FARC near Bogotá, they asked us to create a bloc that even suggested the name of the Capital Bloc,” said the former paramilitary chief.

The Prosecutor’s Office agreed with Miguel Ángel del Río, the doctor Jorge Paredes of Legal Medicine confirmed that the death of Colonel Óscar Dávila was suicide.
