It’s one of the big games of the first half of 2023. Like its predecessors, Diablo 4 boasts a colossal lifespan thanks to the activities it offers. It is, on this subject, the rise in level which risks being a little too long for some.

This is something that is more likely to discourage Diablo 4 players than to motivate them. According to a Reddit user, it takes 243.5 million experience points to reach level 85 from level 1. To reach level 100 from level 1, 487 million experience points are needed. The calculator quickly came out, so it takes as much experience to reach level 85 of level 1 as level 100 of level 85.
Fun fact: Level 85 is halfway to level 100 in terms of exp. 487 million exp is needed to reach level 100. 243.5 million is level 85.
A statistic that can turn some players off. But don’t panic since some of them find techniques to limit the leveling time… provided you are not afraid of a certain redundancy. This is for example the case of Rob2628: he was the first to be level 100 following 54 hours of play.
An extreme challenge not even half finished
Well, such a feat is only reserved for a fringe of sufficiently invested players: it takes time and, paradoxically, patience to level up quickly. Diablo 4 is also not the first to lengthen level gains as much. For example, Dofus does it too: it takes as many experience points to reach level 199 when you are level 1 as… level 200 when you are level 199. To return to Diablo, it is therefore not surprising to see that there are still hundreds of places to recover at through the Extreme mode challenge.
Unfortunately, this information is also likely to give more arguments to already demoralized players to the idea of starting all over once more to take advantage of the seasonal content expected this summer. Others may see the glass half full: this is an opportunity to take their time and enjoy the many possible things to experience in Diablo 4.
