The Chinese electric compact wins new equipment, without increasing its prices. Its look evolves with larger rims.
The range of the MG 4 will soon expand with the arrival of a long-range version and a powerful four-wheel-drive version. The French division has confirmed to us that these versions will be on sale within a few weeks. But before that, the Chinese electric compact benefits from improvements, already present on vehicles delivered for a few days.
From the basic version, there is now the One Pedal function. As its name suggests, it allows driving with a single pedal, that of the accelerator. Once this is released, the functionality activates regenerative braking until the vehicle comes to a complete stop, without having to use the “conventional” brake. This allows for “smoother and more efficient” driving in urban areas.
The top-of-the-range Luxury version will gain a route planner by August. This makes it possible to plan the charging stages via the vehicle’s navigation system and thus adjust its stops in real time.

Among the small new features, there is also the arrival, on all models, of the rear windshield wiper, a third rear head restraint and grab handles for all the side occupants. The top of the range, on the other hand, loses the black roof, but gains new 18-inch rims. The basic model goes from 16 to 17 inches. But this does not impact the autonomy according to MG.
Another good point: for models with the 64 kWh battery, the peak load goes from 135 to 142 kW. We recharge from 10 to 80% in 26 minutes instead of 35.
The prices do not change. The Standard model with 51 kWh battery costs €29,990. With the 64 kWh battery, the Comfort is €33,990 and the Luxury €35,990.
