Electronic Arts is being rebuilt once more. The studios are now split into two organizations, namely EA Entertainment and EA Sports. EA hopes this will lead to faster and more insightful decisions regarding development and go-to-market strategies.

Restructuring is due every few years to shake up crumbling organizational structures, and EA is no different. The publisher’s studios are now split between two organizations, one of which we already know as a label – EA Sports and EA Entertainment.

EA Entertainment will take care of its own and licensed brands in the future. Laura Miele has been named President of EA Entertainment, Technology & Central Development, and the Games executive team will be structured similarly to the current one. Vince Zampella will continue to oversee Apex Legends, Star Wars games, and the Battlefield franchise, while Samantha Ryan will continue to oversee lifestyle franchises and blockbuster single-player experiences. Jeff Karp will continue to lead EA Entertainment’s mobile teams.

Cam Weber has been named President of EA Sports, leading the organization responsible for the sports titles and entire racing portfolio. With expanded business responsibilities, he is tasked with accelerating the teams’ growth plans, including building EA Sports FC and American Football franchises into connected, multi-platform ecosystems.

Both organizations report directly to EA CEO Andrew Wilson. The newly appointed executives are expected to work with studio leaders over the coming months to implement the reorganization. Let’s see what it brings…
