Patrick, for the Adjim: “The exhibition is a call to expand solidarity”

Member of the board of directors of the Adjim (Accompaniment of young isolated migrants), Patrick sees in the Banksy exhibition “a spotlight on the situation of exiles, and more particularly young exiles”. A good way for him to raise public awareness at a time when the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, plans to pass a “strict” immigration regulation law. “We hope that it will make people aware of having another look at exiles”, hopes Patrick, crossing his fingers. Among the partners of the exhibition, another association already well known on a national scale is campaigning on the same subject: SOS Méditerranée. But, for Patrick, there is no room for rivalry, on the contrary. “It shows that at the local level, solidarity persists,” he says.

The ressourcerie was chosen by the Ateliers des Capucins to create and coordinate the scenography of the exhibition. This choice is not insignificant, all the previous exhibitions of the collection have been produced in a spirit of reuse. “The objective was to reuse what we have in stock, without building”, explains Aurélie, in charge of insertion for Un peu d’R. The challenge is considerable, it is a first for the association. “We had already redone the accommodations, but from there to making a scenography, there is a step”, confides Aurélie. To support this mission, Un peu d’R has called on associations that share the same values. “We worked with Retriplast for everything plastic, Fil & Fab who take care of the recovery and recycling of fishing nets and even with the city’s green spaces department! », declares Emmanuel, director of the association. “By working on this kind of project, we really feel like we are participating in international solidarity alongside Banksy, if that happens we have already seen it, even! “, he adds, a smile on the corner of his lips.

“It’s with artists like Banksy that we can make things happen,” say Emmanuel Gazin, director of the resource center Un peu d’R, and Aurélie Corcuff, integration officer. (Photo The Telegram / Valentin Martinot)

Rémy Galleret, for the Frédéric-Ozanam drop-in centre: “Banksy is disturbing, it’s important to be disturbing”

Offering food aid and day care to people who are isolated or in difficulty, the Frédéric-Ozanam drop-in center was contacted directly by the League for Human Rights. For Remy Galleret, “director emeritus” of the stopover, this exhibition is an opportunity to “break the clichés regarding the few black sheep, which exist, but which do not form a majority”. According to him, people with an immigrant background are often blocked in their lives by the stereotypes associated with them. In order to break these prejudices, there is only one solution in his eyes, “to involve the citizen in the action”. If this may seem out of reach at first sight, Remy Galleret is on the contrary reassuring on the issue. “Contrary to what we are told, many people are sensitive to this fight”

“The message corresponds to our principles, especially on exiles”, underlines Rémy Galleret, former president of the Frédéric-Ozanam drop-in centre. (Photo The Telegram / Valentin Martinot)
