New Amendment in Egyptian Stamp Tax Law: Leaving Country Tax & Entertainment Fees

Al-Marsad Newspaper: The Egyptian government announced the amendment of some provisions of the stamp tax law by imposing a tax for leaving the country and entering theaters and other places of entertainment and nightclubs.

And “Cairo 24” stated that a fee for developing the state’s financial resources was imposed, at a value of 100 Egyptian pounds upon leaving the territory of the Republic, with the exception of foreigners coming for the purpose of tourism only to the governorates of Cairo, Giza, the Red Sea, South Sinai, Luxor, Aswan, Matrouh), so the fee is 50. pounds.

Excluded from this are Egyptian and foreign passenger and public goods transport vehicle drivers and those working on lines or trucks that regularly cross the borders of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The newspaper also published the President’s decision regarding the abolition of the exemption established on the returns of treasury bills and bonds or capital gains resulting from dealing in these bills and bonds from income tax.
