The man was regarding to get out of his car when he slumped back in the seat. His vehicle continued to roll and came to a stop between a house wall and a staircase. The driver’s leg, which was sticking out of the vehicle, was trapped between the vehicle frame and the door.

Bystanders alerted the emergency services. Shortly following 4 p.m., together with the Bad Ischl Red Cross, the Reiterndorf fire station and the Bad Ischl main fire station were alerted to this operation.

Also present is Kevin Rothauer from the Bad Ischl fire brigade, who works full-time at the Bad Ischl Red Cross: “We thought regarding how to get to the person who had an accident as quickly as possible. Due to the fact that the foot was jammed in the door, it was unfortunately not possible to pull it out of the bottleneck.”

The driver’s door was finally forced open with physical effort, creating a gap through which the man’s foot might be lifted inside the vehicle. Then the car was pulled out of the bottleneck.
