The search for an optimal diet leads to certain positive results. A team of scientists from the University of Georgia has focused its professional attention on the diet, in particular, on intermittent fasting.

After studying hundreds of scientific feature articles, analysts have concluded that the number of meals significantly affects obesity and the body’s predisposition to developing diabetes, including type 2.

As a result of the study, it turned out that with three meals a day and regular snacks during the day, the level of insulin in the blood practically does not decrease, it remains stable. However, the amount of calories and sugar consumed on average by the subjects might trigger an overload of insulin receptors in the body.

Ultimately, scientists have identified the most effective format for eating – this is intermittent fasting. It is effective if important accompanying conditions are observed. It is necessary to conduct it regularly, reduce the number of meals and the amount of food consumed, forget regarding nighttime snacks and refuse any food for 12-14 hours.

Intermittent fasting helps to relax the body, lower insulin and blood glucose levels, and reduce calorie intake by at least 550 units per day. In addition, with this diet, the hormones responsible for controlling appetite and energy levels in the body are regulated.

Scientists in their work, published in publication Nutrients warn that other types of time-restrictive diets, including multi-day fasts, will not bring similar benefits, and even harm health.
