The Basics of Medical Research course, which was held over two days, in the Children’s Department of the Qatif Health Network, in cooperation with the Research Department and the Department of Academic Affairs and Clinical Training, issued a number of important recommendations for health practitioners.
The course came out with recommendations, such as focusing on the importance of acquiring medical research skills for health practitioners, with the aim of improving patient care, and making progress in various medical fields, as medical and clinical research aims to fill some knowledge gaps in the field of medicine by asking questions that have not been answered before.
The course pointed out that many of the medical issues that greatly served patients, such as diagnostic methods and drug treatments, are nothing but the outcome of a series of medical and clinical research conducted in the past.
Recommendations from experienced doctors
The course provided recommendations and experiences from doctors with experience in the field of medical research, the most important of which is being careful in choosing a research topic and not rushing to finish the scientific paper except following confirming and reviewing with experts, because high-quality medical research usually requires a lot of effort and time, and this is what The vision of our wise Kingdom 2030 seeks him, which seeks to invest in our strengths, as the leadership has paid all attention to this and harnessed all capabilities to achieve ambitions.
Speakers from inside and outside the Qatif health network participated in this event. The session was chaired by Dr. Afnan Al-Jawad, a consultant pediatric gastroenterologist, in cooperation with the research department headed by Dr. Salah Bu Haliqa.
The Department of Pediatrics, headed by Dr. Nihad Al-Faraj, Consultant Gastroenterologist, is considered one of the active and supportive departments of medical research, as it conducts a lot of medical research in various fields, including hematology, neurology, premature babies, critical care, endocrinology, diseases of the digestive system, kidneys, and others. for the benefit of the patients.
Medical research is also conducted in the pediatric department to guide the trainee doctors, headed by Dr. Salah Al-Mubarak, pediatric neurologist, which includes a number of consultants, Dr. Hana Al-Jalih, and Dr. Afnan Al-Jawad, and Dr. Ahmed Al Khalifa, and Dr. Mohammed Al Darwish.

Out of keenness to master the skill of medical research for doctors, this training course was held, in cooperation with the Research Department headed by Dr. Salah Bu Haliqa, who has an active role in the hospital in various departments, in addition to her cooperation with other hospitals.
