Accounting for gold and the tax on it will bring the budget an additional 80-105 billion rubles.
The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office proposed to tighten the tax on the extraction of precious metals. The proposal concerns the part that relates to the extraction of precious metals from ores of other metals. The idea has already been supported by the Ministry of Finance.
The Ministry of Finance confirmed the discussions on changing the procedure for calculating taxes in the extraction of multicomponent complex ores, while stressing that discussions are to be held with departments and the business community on this issue.
Now the tax is paid only when minerals are extracted under a license, and for precious metals, which are extracted from dumps and waste, the rate is zero. And we are talking regarding significant volumes.
According to Georgy Ostapkovich, director of the Center for Market Research at the HSE Institute for Statistical Research and Economics of Knowledge, the change in the rate is justified in conditions when the state needs new ways to replenish the budget, and prosecutorial checks will help put precious metals production under control.
As they writeNews”, Only the accounting for gold and the tax on it will bring the budget an additional 80-105 billion rubles.
