High-Value Robbery: Stolen Handbags Worth €200,000 Found on Romanian Online Sales Platforms

Police in the Vlas area (Kortrijk, Kuurne and Lendelede) found three men who had broken into a store in Kortrijk through a hole in the wall of an adjacent building. This is reported by the West Flanders prosecutor’s office, Kortrijk division. They took away 84 handbags worth more than 200,000 euros and lots of jewelry.

On the weekend of February 26, thieves managed to break into a renowned antique store in Kortrijk through an adjacent unoccupied property. They made a hole in the wall and were able to fit in.

Besides antiques, the store stocked a large number of luxury handbags, including Gucci, Prada, Dior and Louis Vuitton. The criminals, who were probably acting on the basis of inside information, seized at least 84 handbags worth more than 200,000 euros. They also stole 16 bracelets, several gold rings and luxury watches.

“The victim learned that at least some of the stolen handbags were offered for sale on several Romanian online sales platforms,” ​​the prosecutor’s office said.
